Zhi Min, born in 1975.
Executive Vice President of the Sculpture Academy of the China National Academy of Arts, Professor and doctoral supervisor.
His work “Twenty-Four Solar Terms – Beginning of Autumn” won the Gold Award in Sculpture at the 39th Florence Biennale (Italy) in 2022.
His work “Hongmeng” won the Gold Award and the annual Grand Prize at the 8th “Tomorrow Sculpture Award” in 2020.
His work “Boat” won an Excellence Award at the “2022 Beijing Winter Olympics International Public Art Competition” hosted by the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee and became one of seven works permanently installed.
His work “Celestial Guardians – Azure Dragon” received the Bronze Kaolin Award at “The Spirit of Porcelain” – the 1st Jingdezhen International Ceramic Art Biennale in 2021, among other honours.
He has held 11 solo exhibitions at major institutions including the National Art Museum of China, the Hubei Museum of Art, the Shanghai Art Museum, the Chinese Cultural Center in Paris, and the Beijing Yi Art Museum. He has led several national-level research projects funded by the National Social Science Fund and the National Arts Fund.
He has published 7 monographs, including “Luminous Body – Chinese Culture and Art” and “An Inexhaustible Methodology of Creation,” has run academic columns for several core journals, and has published articles and columns totalling more than 100 pieces in China’s core Chinese-language and national-level art journals.
