Dakar 2026: a historic moment
The first African city to host the Youth Olympic Games, Dakar 2026 represents a major symbolic milestone. This historic moment will mobilise an entire continent and reach a potential audience of more than 2 billion viewers worldwide.
Empreinte 100 Ans is fully part of this historic sequence, carrying the message « Africa welcomes, Dakar celebrates ». The project positions the Senegalese capital as a leading platform for culture, sport and innovation, in line with municipal and national priorities — and helps strengthen Senegal’s soft power at a time when the world’s attention is turning to the African continent.
In the current geopolitical context, the scope of the project takes on even greater meaning: promoting peace through sport, art and technology, while celebrating African youth and building bridges between continents.
The exhibition
15 Oct. – 15 Nov. 2026 · Dakar, Senegal
The Empreinte 100 Ans – Dakar 2026 exhibition will take place in a venue emblematic of modernity and international cooperation in Dakar.
Conceived as an immersive artistic, sporting and technological journey, it will explore the themes of peace, symbiosis, exchange, pride, joy and humility. It will be built around five pillars : sport, culture, ecology, technology & innovation, and social impact.
The format is hybrid — physical and digital — and will welcome international artists, creating an unprecedented dialogue between heritage and innovation, between traditional works and contemporary creations, between Africa, Europe, Asia and the other continents.
Far more than an exhibition, Empreinte 100 Ans is an open stage: a space for encounters, performances, workshops and experimentation where visual arts, digital creation and immersive practices meet. A structuring platform, a driver of pride, and a powerful diplomatic tool — worthy of the history we are writing together.
