Promoting Olympic Values
Ahead of the Paris Olympic Games, the French and Chinese heads of state wish to revive cultural and human exchange, making sport, for example, an important element in the relationship between the two peoples.
On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, and as part of the 33rd Olympic Games, the France-China Partenaires association created an event, a shared cultural project, the “Empreinte” project, supported by the Paris Olympic and Sports Committee.
This project aims to promote Olympic values, Peace through Sport and Art, around the figure of Pierre de Coubertin.
An exhibition of 33 busts embodying the Olympic spirit, created by Chinese artists…
You will have the opportunity to discover the 33 works, the 33 symbols of the 33rd Olympiad; France’s international dialing code is +33; in Chinese culture, 3×3=9 is associated with the Emperor and nobility.
This project will carry the “Cultural Olympiad” label granted by the Paris 2024 Organising Committee, and is supported by the Chinese Embassy in Paris. It also benefits from the support of numerous figures from French political life (National Assembly and Senate), the art world, La Maison des Artistes, the Taylor Foundation and the Pierre de Coubertin family.
The event is scheduled for 7 May 2024 at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin in Paris.
Open to the public from 10am to 8pm: This event includes three parts:
- the promotion of Olympic values, on the eve of the Olympic Torch Relay route.
- a unique exhibition of bust sculptures
