Tan Xun, born in 1974 in Baoding, Hebei, graduated from the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts in 1997. Sculptor and contemporary artist working across sculpture, installation, painting, video, and exhibition curation. Currently Professor and Deputy Dean of the School of Fine Arts at the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, graduate supervisor, guest professor and doctoral supervisor at Sungshin Women's University, South Korea. Committee member of the Sculpture Art Committee of the China Artists Association, Vice President of the Chinese Sculpture Institute, Deputy Director of the Sculpture Committee of the China Arts and Crafts Society, and Fellow of the Royal Society of Sculptors (FRSS), United Kingdom.
