Li Huidong, Professor. Director of the Sculpture Department at the School of Arts and Design, Beijing University of Technology.
Graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the Sculpture Department of the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in 1994. Graduated with a master’s degree from the same department in 1997, studying under Mr. Tian Jinduo.

- Expert in the People’s Bank of China’s expert pool for commemorative coin design and production.
- Standing council member of the China Association for the Promotion of Ethnic Minority Culture and Art.
- Council member of the Chinese Sculpture Institute.
- Deputy Director of the Sculpture Committee of the China Arts and Crafts Society.
Major national projects:
From 2006 to 2009, commissioned by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Culture, and the Ministry of Finance, he took part in organizing the design and enlargement of “Encouragement – Great Unity of the Nation,” one of a hundred major national historical-themed artworks created to mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 2009. Held by the National Art Museum of China.
International institutional collections:
- In November 2012, the work “Peacock Dance” was acquired by the Sino-American Sculpture Park in Kansas, USA, and is permanently displayed in Overland Park.
- In March 2012, the work “Christophe Mérieux” was acquired by the Mérieux Foundation, France.
National institutional collections:
- In August 2020, the work “Slow, Slow Song – Longing” was acquired by the Dishui Lake China Renowned Artists Themed Sculpture Park in Shanghai and is permanently displayed there.
- In January 2016, the work “Slow, Slow Song – Longing” was acquired by the National Art Museum of China.
- In December 2013, the work “Silk Fragrance – Fragrance” received a nomination award at the 1st “CCTV Sculpture Competition” and was acquired by China Central Television.
