First-Class Art Master (Grade 2), currently Director of the Guan Shanyue Art Museum in Shenzhen.
Academic and professional affiliations include: Vice President of the Chinese Society of Fine Brushwork Painting, Deputy Director of the Art Museum Professional Committee of the China Museums Association, Vice Chairman of the Guangdong Artists Association, Master’s Supervisor at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Vice Chairman of the Shenzhen Federation of Literary and Art Circles and Chairman of the Shenzhen Artists Association, committee member of the Curatorial Art Committee of the China Artists Association, among others.
He is a recognized expert receiving a special government allowance from the Shenzhen municipal government, a local-level leading talent, an expert for the Shenzhen Pilot Demonstration Zone, and Vice Chairman of the Shenzhen Design and Art Alliance, among other roles; the same year he also received the “Nepalese Minister of Culture Award” and the “Special Award of the Slovak Ambassador to China“.
In 2011, under his leadership, the Guan Shanyue Art Museum was named by the Ministry of Culture as one of the first nine National Key Art Museums. Since 2012, the exhibitions and events he has curated have received a total of 14 outstanding-project honours under the Ministry of Culture’s “National Art Museum Development Support Program” and “National Art Museum Collection Highlights Exhibition Season“.
The “Complete Works of Guan Shanyue“, which he edited, received China’s highest publishing honour, the “5th China Outstanding Publishing Award“, in 2015. He has published research monographs on Guan Shanyue including “Masters of Modern and Contemporary Chinese Painting: Guan Shanyue” (Higher Education Press, 2017) and “A Century of Shanyue: Collected Writings of Chen Xiangbo” (Guangxi Fine Arts Publishing House, 2015); nearly a hundred of his works are held by professional institutions in China and abroad, including the National Art Museum of China. He has edited more than 100 anthologies and art collections, and his art-history writings, totalling over 600,000 characters, have been published across professional journals, anthologies and art collections.
He designed the “cute tiger” mascot image for China Central Television’s 2022 Spring Festival Gala.
