On September 30, Empreinte 100 Ans was present at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris for an event dedicated to the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games and the role of young people in building lasting peace.
The day brought together institutional representatives, diplomats, and leaders from the worlds of sports and culture around a shared belief: young people, sports, and culture have an essential role to play in fostering dialogue, mutual understanding, and peace.
Empreinte 100 Ans presented its project alongside one of the busts created for Paris 2024, symbolizing how far the initiative has come since its inception and its commitment to bringing together art, sports, memory, and the passing on of knowledge and values to future generations.
The event at UNESCO also provided an opportunity for meaningful conversations about the project’s next chapter: Dakar 2026.
Following Paris, Empreinte 100 Ans is continuing its journey in Senegal, with the ambition not simply to recreate its first edition, but to expand it through new works, new encounters, and new voices. The project brings artistic creation together with youth engagement and is part of a broader effort to foster dialogue across cultures and generations. The initiative is also bringing together all 14 regions of Senegal around the project.
Next Stop: Dakar
From October 15 to November 15, 2026, Empreinte 100 Ans will welcome the public at the Museum of Black Civilizations in Dakar.
A new exhibition, featuring an exhibition design conceived by Senegalese artist Kalidou Kassé, will bring together artists, artworks, and experiences centered on the values at the heart of the project: peace, sharing, respect, transmission, and cultural exchange.
From Paris to Dakar, the story continues. Guided by the same conviction: that sports, art, and culture can become universal languages, bringing generations and people closer together.
