Born in Shanghai in 1945, Alain Vauthier spent most of his career in the French senior civil service, working in the ministries responsible for the economy and foreign affairs. He served as Minister-Counsellor in Morocco and as France’s Commissioner General at the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. He is now Vice-President of the Marshal Lyautey Foundation.
